“FRESH BAKED” PEACH PIE CONTEST
Saturday, July 20, 2:00 PM - CROUSE BUILDING
REGISTRATION: 12 PM - 2 PM
Adult Premiums: 1st $40, 2nd $25, 3rd $15, 4th $10
Youth Premiums: 1st $40, 2nd $25, 3rd $15, 4th $10
RULES
1) The contest is open to male and female contestants ages 17 and older and youth ages 10 to 16.
2) Only one entry (pie) per person.
3) Exhibitors must be residents of Harford County or reside within a 25-mile radius of the fairgrounds.
4) After one year, a previous winner of the Champion award is eligible to participate again.
5) The pie must:
• be made from fresh peaches
• be made from “scratch” (filling and crusts)
• have two crusts
• be cooled before the contest
• be baked in a clear glass pie plate of your choice, but entrant is responsible for picking up plate after the sale of pies following the contest
6) Recipe must accompany the pie and be legibly written or typed.
7) Following judging, Pies will become the property of the Harford County Farm Fair. Proceeds from pie sales will be donated to a local food ministry program.
HORSESHOE PITCHING TOURNAMENT

REGISTRATION: 9 AM for Men’s and Women’s Doubles, Singles registration will be immediately after doubles competition

Registration begins at 9:00 AM for Men’s and Women’s Doubles. Singles registration and competition will start immediately after the Doubles matches. Ribbons and trophies will be awarded. Bring your own horseshoes.
OPEN BICYCLE CONTEST
Sunday, July 21, 12 PM - 5 PM - SHOW RING
Rules and Regulations for Bicycle Contest
Open to all, ages 5-18 years.
Participants must bring their own bicycles, and bicycles must fit the rider properly.
All participants must wear an approved “safety helmet” that is properly fitting.
The event will include: (1) Written exam, (2) Practical exam (identification of parts), (3) Skill riding event, and (4) Bicycle safety inspection.
Ribbons will be awarded.

Round Bale Rolling (time and distance)
Feeding the Pigs (loading a bucket with corn and carrying it to the feed trough)
Wheelbarrow Carry (transporting a rolling item, for time and distance)
Medals will be awarded.

The 2024 Challenge will feature up to 6 teams competing against each other in a single Class. There is no Amateur Competition this year.
We have an exciting line-up of competitors, and all are encouraged to promote the Chef's Challenge Competition within your community so that we have an audience for the event.

Participants will be asked to comment on their creations and identify the use of special ingredients provided by the Challenge.
The audience is invited to observe the competitors while creating, including asking questions.

MULLET CONTEST

Divisions:
Kids: 5 -12 years old
Teens: 13 - 19 years old
Adult: 20 - 65 years old
Over the Hill: 65 years and older
How the Mullet will be judged:
Size (20 points) - The hair's overall length, width, and density (fullness). Mullets are measured.
Color (20 points) - The natural color of the hair: multi-color blending, natural lightening or greying, vibrancy, consistency, or variation.
Style & Presentation (20 points): Does the mullet style fit the individual? Does it complement the individual's overall style?
Quality (15 points) - The mullet haircut's graduation, taper, angle, and thickness. The grooming (fly away hairs), sheen, and symmetry of the hairstyle.
Dazzle (15 points) - During the competition, you may earn up to 25 more points through dazzle, how you portray yourself and your hairstyle, through costume and stage presence. The judges will be looking for individuals whose hairstyle reflects their personality, hair personality, and costume personality.
Audience (10 points) - Strut your stuff, show your attitude! Your 30-second stage walk can make or break you here! Hair flips and stare-downs are encouraged!
Eligibility: You must live in Harford County and have a mullet haircut. This event is open to the public and 4H/FFA exhibitors.
RULES:
The participants must grow all mullets; no fake hair, wigs, extensions, or artificial hair will be accepted.
During the day of the competition, it is encouraged to come in “costume” and stage presence ready! This will help add to the competitor’s points.
No vulgar or explicit materials. This is a family event.
Beauty shots will be taken upon your arrival to check in, so be camera-ready! We are creating a “Year Book” of hair.
AWARDS: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards for each age group. Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion mullets (Overall).
